MESSAGE FROM THE STARHOUSE
It is spring and, in the natural cycles of life, warm rains and increasing light are coaxing awake the seeds that have lain dormant since last autumn. This is the natural order, and builds each year upon the work of the previous year and upon the visions of resting slumber in dark winter's cool earth.
Yet this year other kinds of seeds are being sown - seeds of hate, distrust, and violence, vacuous seeds that grow nothing but screaming phantoms and hollow ghosts, seeds that end cycles of life and growth rather than continue them.
There are also some people who, embracing an escalating war as the completion of imagined Biblical prophecies of end-times and their personal assumption into heaven, hold their seeds away from the warming earth, offering them up to an exclusive god.
But in the natural course of life, the fecund earth yearns for the seeds just as the seeds yearn for the earth, for completion here in this place of joy and challenge.
Place your seeds into the earth - press them firmly into the earth. Grow courageously what you can in this world with all of its faults and trials. Grow here and you will see how your earnestness feeds both this world - your fellow travelers and all that lives and moves, and also feeds the spirit world as well.
The challenge of this particular spring is to plant your seeds with hope - then to sprout up as fresh and vulnerable as ever, yet beholding in full awareness the facts of what is taking place in the world - a young smiling babe and a wise observant elder at the same time.
